Balance

Balance is an abstract acrylic painting that explores the harmony between form, texture, and contrast.  The composition features two organic shapes that appear to be delicately poised against a dark background.  The lower form was painted using a crackle glaze, creating a web of fine cracks that evoke a sense of time and natural weathering.  In contrast, the upper form has been sanded back, revealing a speckled texture beneath the surface, adding depth and a tactile quality to the piece. Through these techniques, Balance invites contemplation on the interplay between structure and imperfection, strength and fragility.

The artwork measures 51 x 61 cm and was completed in 2024.
