Cadbury Castle

This painting was a commission based on the topography of Cadbury Castle in Somerset. The composition, translates the ancient hillfort’s contour lines into a flowing, organic abstraction.  A natural colour palette was requested, so I used earthy greens, grey, ochre, and blues - honouring the landscape’s history and the personal significance it holds for the client.  The surface has been sanded back, creating a mottled, weathered texture.  This piece captures both the geography and the spirit of Cadbury Castle, a place steeped in legend and memory.

The artwork measures 28 x 20 cm and was completed in 2024.
