Pavement

Pavement captures the layered history of urban landscapes, inspired by the fragmented surface left behind on pavements after years of repairs and maintenance work. The composition mirrors the geometric imprints of concrete patches, where new surfaces meet old, creating an unintentional abstract pattern.  A striking jewel-green background contrasts with the pale, weathered tones of the rectangular forms.  The painting transforms the overlooked into a dynamic study of texture, colour, and time.

The artwork measures 60 x 42 cm and was completed in 2022.
