Undercurrent

Undercurrent is a contemplative abstract painting that captures the subtle energy of movement beneath the surface.  Built up through multiple layers of paint, the dark inky blue background—almost black—holds a quiet depth.  Fine white lines have been drawn vertically across the surface, responding to the ridges and textures formed by the layers beneath.  These delicate shifts and distortions create the effect of gentle ripples, evoking the movement of water or unseen currents.  Through this interplay of control and organic disruption, Undercurrent explores the unseen forces that shape and influence our surroundings.

The artwork measures 42 x 60 cm and was completed in 2024.
