Vessels

Vessels is a study in stillness and form, inspired by the quiet beauty of Giorgio Morandi’s still life compositions.  A collection of vases and bottles emerges in muted, earthy tones, their shapes simplified yet full of presence.  Set against a deep, dark background, the piece conveys a sense of quiet balance.  The addition of crackle glaze introduces a delicate sense of time and imperfection.  Gloss varnish contrasts against the matte textures, enhancing the interplay of light and surface.  Through restrained composition and subtle variations, Vessels, celebrates simplicity, materiality, and the beauty of everyday objects.

The artwork measures 60 x 42 cm and was completed in 2024.
